Employers are being invited to support the practical phase of Serve-It from November.
Wine estates, restaurants and hospitality businesses are being asked to host young people from farming communities for the workplace phase of Pebbles Project’s Serve-It programme.
In an appeal published on 8 October, Pebbles gives the placement period as 2 November 2026 to 29 January 2027. The six-month programme combines three months of structured learning with three months of workplace experience.
Training covers wine service, hospitality, sales, South African wine knowledge and preparation for working life, according to the organisation.
An employer appeal
The immediate request is for host businesses. It should not be read as confirmation that new student applications are open, or that a placement guarantees permanent employment.
Pebbles’ broader Youth Development Programme supports young people aged 15 to 25 in planning their next steps. Its programme description identifies centres in Stellenbosch and the Hemel-en-Aarde area near Hermanus.
Businesses interested in hosting can contact the organisation at info@pebblesproject.co.za to discuss the placement arrangements. The appeal does not set out a stipend, employer fee or guaranteed recruitment outcome.
